ABOUT THE PROJECT
'Dresses & Bow Ties' is a short film directed by Cas following a 13 year old tomboy, Lily. She's a gender nonconforming person being told to present "Lady Like" the entire night while she just wants to support her cousins big day. The film hopes to display gender dysphoria to audiences who maybe experiencing similar feelings.
The film aims to celebrate gender nonconformity as well as display a narrative where both parties are portrayed with empathy. The films team consists of a diverse group of minds all committed to creating an entertaining short focused on a Mother and Daughters misunderstanding of each others perspective.

SYNOPSIS
The night of her cousin’s wedding, Lily wears a horrendous bridesmaid dress that she cannot stand. Discovering Lily ruined her own makeup, her mother Val spends the night trying to keep Lily’s behavior in check as the tomboy struggles to relax in the dress. After many attempts to get out of the wedding and her her dress, Lily finally takes matters into her own hands and begins to destroy her ugly dress and tries to flee the venue undetected.
